If you are a college student or recent graduate, not only is volunteering the right thing to do....it is a smart thing to do for your career.
On your resume volunteering is definitely a way to differentiate you from other candidates. Also, many times student aren't able to get the experience from an internship -- volunteering many times is the answer.
