Don't wait for PD sessions. This article talks about how to take learning into your own hands and how you can do it 24/7. Following hashtags and edchats is a starting point and you can do that even without a Twitter account. Connecting with a network is enormously underutilized.

PLNs enable us as educators to support each other and to learn, which in turn benefits our students. The commonsense.org site gives 3 tips 1) Get connected and follow others 2) Get Inspired - through networking obtain lesson ideas and learn new tools 3) Give back and share with others These align with APST - focus areas 6.2 and 7.4. Through professional development we can improve professional practice. |

When our classrooms closed down our walls opened up. Yes, education is different. Yes, teachers and students are different. Our world has shifted from where is was two years ago...BUT, we learned new tools and most importantly, we learned to adapt. Twitter was my go to when trying to figure out distance education and how to make the best learning environment for my students. That is when my PLN really started to grow. There is no need to wait for another pandemic. Grow your PLN now!
