Ever wanted to work in the field of aerospace but didn't know where to start? Now is your chance as the European Space Agency (ESA) is to offer 14 internships for Luxembourg students.

The paid placements are part of a Luxembourg youth graduate trainee programme (LuxYGT), offering young graduates their first experience in various sectors related to aerospace.

The LuxYGT programme was created as a result of an agreement between Luxembourg's Economy Ministry and the ESA in order to develop skills in the space sector locally.

“Renowned internationally for hosting SES, one of the world's largest satellite operators, the national aerospace sector is an example of Luxembourg's engagement in the diversification and innovation in advanced technologies. This additional training provided by ESA allows young graduates to acquire high-tech work experience will be an asset for their future careers,” Economy Miniser Etienne Schneider said of the initiative.

Candidates wishing to apply for the LuxYGT must have obtained their Masters or degree in the past two years. Successful applicants will occupy roles for a period of 12 months with the possibility to extend the placement by a further 12 months.

Pay is 2,200 euros per month, tax free including health insurance and accident cover. To find out more, visit gov.lu/luxygt.

Afin de développer les compétences dans le secteur spatial, un accord spécifique a été conclu entre le ministère de l’Économie et l’Agence spatiale européenne (ESA) en vue de permettre aux jeunes diplômés luxembourgeois d’obtenir une première expérience professionnelle dans différents secteurs spécifiques relevant du domaine de l’aérospatial.

Pour l’année 2017, l’ESA propose 20 postes de stage à des étudiants luxembourgeois. À travers le programme «Luxembourgish Young Graduate Trainees» (LuxYGT), les étudiants bénéficieront d’une expérience de valeur qui les qualifie pour de nombreux postes dans l’industrie spatiale, des instituts de recherches renommés et, bien sûr, à l’ESA. Tout au long de leur formation, les stagiaires sont soutenus par un tuteur expérimenté, membre du personnel de l’Agence spatiale européenne.
