This is a funny video, but it is all true. I have made plenty of mistakes that I kick my self for after the fact, and I simply just learn from my mistake and try not to make the smallest mistake. With the new services and technologies in this day and age, it is easy to find articles and interview advices on line that comes in handy.

Patricia D. Sadar's insight: Great article! I always suggest to everyone that the phone interview preparation needs to be approached with differently than the face-to-face.
You need to do all of the same preparation as you would for the in person one; however, now you need to make sure that you turn off the call waiting, use a land based phone, practice answering questions by recording yourself to see how your responses sound.
In person - the majority of communication is your body language. Over the telephone the majority is your tone of voice, words, word emphasis, etc. So practice!! |
If you are a college student or recent graduate, not only is volunteering the right thing to do....it is a smart thing to do for your career.
On your resume volunteering is definitely a way to differentiate you from other candidates. Also, many times student aren't able to get the experience from an internship -- volunteering many times is the answer.
