Trish Sadar's insight:

I personally have made a hiring decision between two candidates, because one candidate wrote a genuine thank you note and followed up and the other didn't.

It is often the little things that are the big things.

Always ask for a business card for those who are itnerviewing you.  This way you will spell the person's name correctly.  Then instead of an email, take the time to hand write a personal thank you.

Keywords To Use On Your Resume - Business Insider

Keywords To Use On Your Resume - Business Insider | Job Advice - on Getting Hired | Scoop.it
Jobseekers need to understand the automation software.
Trish Sadar's insight:

Excellent article! So many people use generic resumes.

One of the key phrases to place on your resume is the actual job title for the position you are applying for.  If you are currently working in the same position; however, the position title is different for the industry that you are in you can put in brackets next to the title the position.

For example is you are applying for a Marketing Coordinator position, and your current responsibilities match the Marketing Coordinator responsibilities on the job posting, you could insert this into your resume:

On resume your current title is:  Marketing Assistant (Marketing Coordinator responsibilities)

Trish Sadar's insight:

Interesting article.  It seems that many itnerviewers are still asking the basic ice-breaker questions and the weakness and strength question.

I always recommend for every interviewee to know what their strengths are, why they are the best candidate for the position, and an area that they have identified to work and strengthen.

Even if they are not asked these type of questions...the interviewee is still clear in their mind and more confident and prepared when they are asked the questions.

Good list of questions!

I tell everyone however, it is like preparing for an exam.  It is better to focus on the fundamentals so that you walk into the interview confident.  The information on interviewing is endless.  At some point, it is important to put everything down and know the job you are applying for, the organization you want to work for and why, and know why you should be hired.

Then simply...be yourself and actively listen to the interviewer.  Respond authentically to the questions.
